Comhan Holland

Future proof Product Website

WHITE develops scalable platform for Comhan Holland Aluminium

For 75 years, Comhan has been supporting professionals in construction, industry, and visual communication with aluminum solutions from stock and custom-made. Thanks to in-depth material knowledge, a modern machine park, and a strong focus on customization, Comhan has developed into a reliable partner for diverse projects.

The existing website of Comhan was technically and visually outdated and in need of renewal. But the ambition went further than just a technical upgrade. With WHITE, Comhan worked on a website that better conveys the organization's expertise, quickly leads visitors to relevant information, and at the same time lays the foundation for future e-commerce ambitions.

Revamped website strengthens expertise and online visibility

The driver for the project was clear: the existing website, roughly six to seven years old, was falling behind technically and commercially. Comhan noticed a drop in organic visibility, partly due to an outdated technical architecture. Maintaining the same reach required increasingly higher advertising spend.

"Our previous website contained a lot of information, but lacked personality," says Mark Ypenburg, Managing Director at Comhan. "We wanted to showcase the people behind the company and highlight our expertise more effectively. Modernizing the website was therefore as much about brand identity and image as it was about tech."

Comhan connected with WHITE through positive recommendations within its network and the involvement of online marketing agency THINK-online. Mark adds: "During the selection process, WHITE stood out mainly through their combination of technical expertise, the quality of their past projects, and the confidence and professionalism their team projected."

Smart project management during complex web development

Collaborating closely with Comhan and THINK-online, WHITE contributed strategic input on the structure of the site and the underlying technical choices. Because not all requirements were fully defined upfront, both teams continually iterated to find the most effective solutions throughout the build.

Mark: "All partners complemented each other well. WHITE's project manager took charge of the technical delivery process. He also had hands-on knowledge of web development and Craft CMS, which allowed us to make decisions quickly. WHITE proved to be a valuable partner who regularly advised us on how to achieve equal (or even better) results through more efficient solutions."

Product catalog, ERP integration, and e-commerce readiness

The project followed a phased approach. Rather than launching a full e-commerce shop immediately, phase one focused on building a high-performance online product catalog. Comhan’s portfolio features thousands of products, each with distinct dimensions, finishes, and packaging options. To manage this data efficiently, WHITE built an integration with Microsoft Dynamics to automatically synchronize product information between the ERP and the website.

The front end was also completely redesigned. WHITE developed wireframes structured to help visitors locate relevant information faster while putting Comhan's specialized knowledge on display. As a result, the website serves a dual purpose: an online catalog and an authority platform featuring long-tail SEO optimization for customers researching aluminum applications.

At the same time, the team kept the future in mind. "Direct online ordering wasn't part of the initial launch phase," Mark notes. "However, we wanted the new platform to be ready for future e-commerce capabilities. The current quote-request workflow already supports this path. We achieved our goals in a relatively short timeframe, ensuring the website is future-proof without incurring delays by trying to launch a complex, full e-commerce system right away."

Faster results than expected

Shortly after launch, Comhan began seeing positive metrics. Mark: "We anticipated a temporary drop in performance post-migration, but that largely didn't happen. Organic performance recovered faster than expected. We quickly saw higher visitor numbers, longer session durations, and an increase in request-for-quote submissions."

A website project of this scope always brings challenges

That is precisely why working with WHITE was such a positive experience. We consistently landed on solutions that aligned with our goals, despite the timeline and budget pressures typical of a project like this. That combination of expertise, reliability, and commitment makes all the difference
